Obituary

James Harry Eklund, 67, was born September 15, 1950 in Chicago, Illinois and passed away June 28, 2018 at home in Lake Forest, California.

Proudly served his country as a Vietnam Veteran for almost three years, receiving his Combat Infantry badge, National Defense Service medal and Sharpshooter M14.

James is survived by his wife Sunilla Alice Lewis Eklund; daughter Jessica Eklund; daughter Andrea Phillips and her husband Brad; grandsons Oliver and Obi Phillips; sisters Joan Sandstrom and Judy Tiffner.

His love for construction saw him working in this industry for most of his career.
He loved helping people- family, friends, strangers – whenever he could and always went the extra mile.
Spending time with family and friends was his priority, only rivaled by his passion for most sports, first the Minnesota Twins, then the LA Angels for baseball, along with attending the Ducks hockey games whenever he could.
‘The song has ended but the melody lingers on’
A Celebration of James life will be held at 2:00pm in the Clubhouse at the Eklund’s residential community, 24001 Muirlands Blvd., Lake Forest, CA 92630.

  2. Dear All,
Jim was one of the best people we have known. His smile was uplifting, his laugh was infectious, his positive attitude was a lesson for us all. Jim will live on through the light he left in each of us. We will miss him dearly, but we take solace in the fact that he lived a life full of love and passed knowing how much he was adored by those around him, especially his beautiful family.
Sending lots of love and blessings,
    The Chandraratna Family
