Becky Lomaka, MA, CT
Becky became our Director of Grief Support and Education in 2013 with a devoted passion to bring education, encouragement, and validation to the professional and volunteer communities that O’Connor has the privilege of interacting with.
With a Master’s degree in Psychology and a background in non-profit and senior care, Becky has extensive knowledge of the care and resources available here in Orange County and is fulfilled when she can serve and connect people in need. In 2015 Becky acquired her certification in Thanatology, proving herself an expert in the field of death and bereavement. This certification adds to her breadth of experience the more intimate and researched understanding of modern theories surrounding bereavement and makes her an excellent educator on the broad and specific nuances of grief.
In her own words, Becky believes that “Education is our most powerful tool in our efforts to help the community learn more about how to cope with death and the journey of grief after loss.” Through our workshops, seminars and in-service programs, Becky is making a difference in our community and changing the quality of grief-care in Orange County for the better.
