Obituary

Sharon Valerie Quam Bell
May 13, 1970 – May 23, 2009

We will always cherish our memories of Sharon, born in Anaheim California on May 13, 1970.

Loving wife of Andrew Bell and mother to Brooke and Andrea, Sharon is also survived by her father, Dennis; mother, Kikue; sister, Jennifer; and brother, Fletcher.

Sharon passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, May 23, 2009. She was a graduate of USC with a Masters in Social Work and went on to continue in her field of endeavor and worked at the Saint Jude Medical Center, Fullerton, where she was known for her compassionate and loving nature.

Sharon enjoyed spending time with her husband, Andrew, and her two daughters, and they loved to go skiing with the Disabled Sports USA, Orange County Chapter. She will be greatly missed by all who have loved her and the many people whose lives she touched.

The memorial service will be held on Monday, June 1st, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at the Lake Forest Saddleback Church, with reception to follow on site.

  1. Dear Andrew,

I am so sorry to hear of Sharon’s death. Carolyn called me on Thursday to let me know. I have been thinking of you and your girls since. It’s all so very tragic. Please let me know if I can be of any assistance to you–if you just want to talk at some point or whatever. There are lots of community resources available– Hospices often hold groups that are very gentle and empathic. I hope you’ll reach out if/when it gets hard.

    With love,
    Louise

  2. Andrew,
our deepest condolences. We only met Sharon once at the DSUSA Banquet, but her kind nature was obvious. We wish you and your family the needed strength to carry on.

  3. My heart goes out to Sharon’s family. I pray that God gives you the strength to get through this difficult time. I knew Sharon from the Mom’s Club. She was such a loving and kind person and I feel so fortunate to have known her.
