Obituary

. ‘Only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile.’ —Albert Einstein

Doctor Marc Adam Lazzara was one of those men who could make you smile while he was injecting you by just cracking a joke or playfully teasing. Countless patients would walk out of his office with an immense grin on their face and a happy demeanor. Dr. Lazzara’s attributes extended into his family life, he was a dedicated and affectionate dad. He also became a second father to many of his children’s friends and to his own nephews and nieces. His personality can only be described as quirky, invigorating, ebullient and exuberant.

He was born in California on May 9, 1958 to David and Irene Lazzara. Dr. Lazzara was lovingly married to his wife Bernadette Tong for twenty years. They have two wonderful children, Kurt 18 and Audrey 15.

Dr. Lazzara received his undergraduate degree from Pepperdine University and his medical degree from Western University of Health Sciences-College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific in 1997. He obtained his Prolotherapy training from the Medical School of Wisconsin.

He has been helping people for eight years through his specialty in Prolotherapy, which dealt with underlying issues of chronic pain that affords a nonsurgical approach to musculoskeletal problems. Dr. Lazzara was the Program Chairman and President-elect of the National Prolotherapy Foundation, the American College of Osteopathic Schlerotheraputic Pain Management and sat on the Bureau of Osteopathic Specialty Societies for the guidance and overview of Osteopathic medicine.

He was more than a doctor, he was a thoughtful and fun father and friend. His attitude towards life was what really made Marc an exceptional and unparalleled person. Everyone who knows him well or only met him once is certain that God is laughing alongside Marc.

Marc Lazzara is survived by his wife Bernadette, son Kurt, daughter Audrey, parents David and Irene, siblings Cathy, David and Susan and numerous relatives and friends who loved him dearly.

  2. It is very hard to let a person like Dr. Lazzara go. He became something very special to me. With his laughs and jokes he could brigthen anybodys day. I still remember the day i met him, he had such a personality that made me feel comfortable being myself. I will always remember him as a friendly, kind, funny person. It hurts to know that I wont be able to see him again or be able to say thanks one more time for everything he has done for me. I will never forget Dr. Lazzara.

Thank you, Dr. Lazzara for taking care of my injuries :

  3. There is a great void in my life and many others for the loss of a truly great person. Marc Doc is a man of many wonderful traits, always a smile on his face, his special way of talking to you, his funny side, his serious side, his passion for his wife Bernadette, children Kurt and Audrey, family and friends, his passion for his work and helping people in every way that he could. I called him the MIRACLE WORKER. Marc was not just a doctor, he was family to us, a brother to me, he would always say to me “What am I going to do with you and Sue” I have two pains in the “—” that I have to worry about and neither one of you too do what I tell you to, but I love you both anyway. Words alone cannot express how truly a wonderful person Marc is, my thoughts and prayers to all his family. We love him and will miss him so very much.

  4. Kevin Barry says:

Marc loved life and loved the virtues of humanity. He was a true caregiver who always saw the best in his friends, family and fellow man. He left his mark on those who were privileged to know him. In the movie, “As Good As It Gets”, Jack Nicholson tells Helen Hunt, “You make me want to be a better man”. We’re all better for having known Marc Lazzara. We can honor his life by sharing his example of charity with those around us. In that, Marc’s contributions to our lives will be honored and kept alive as we share his example with others. Marc, I love you. You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

I am so grateful and honored to have known such a unforgettable, incredible person. He gave my husband hope and helped him so much through his physical problems and even laughed at his jokes!. They became such great friends, like brothers. His passing was such a shock and my heart is broken and pained that he was taken so young and suddenly. His wife is a very strong woman and I am emensely impressed by her strength and her sweetness. Please except my sincerest condolences and know that your in my prayers daily.
