Obituary

Judy Belser nee Judith Ann Nichols
July 11, 1955- April 22, 2009

Judy passed away peacefully at Mission Hospital on April 22nd after a brief illness. On that day she went home to heaven and is now rejoicing with God and her beloved mother and other dear friends and family members that predeceased her.

The beloved daughter of Wharton A., DDS and Joyce E. Nichols, she was born at Garfield Memorial Hospital in Washington, D.C., the third of their four children. She spent her early years traveling with her military family to Germany, West Point in New York, Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C., and finally to Honolulu, Hawaii. She completed a Bachelors of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene and shortly thereafter moved to Napa Valley, California to pursue her career. She rekindled a friendship from Hawaii with Vince Belser, who was attending San Francisco University, and he helped her to settle in to her new environment. This friendship soon blossomed into a life-long love affair; Judy and Vince were married on August 22, 1984. Vince then joined the Marine Corps and received officer training in Quantico, Virginia and flight training in Pensacola, Florida. Judy relished her role of military wife, as her mother had before her, and she and Vince loved all of their assignments, making many devoted friends along the way. Finally, they made their home in Mission Viejo for the past 25 years. They have one beautiful daughter, Callan Justine, who is 20 years old and attending college in Delray Beach, Florida.

Judy loved life, and lived her life to the fullest as a devout Christian. She was the most devoted wife and mother, daughter and sister, cousin and niece, and best friend to untold numbers of people. Our Judy never met a stranger. No matter where she was, she always made a positive impact on the peoples lives she touched. This beautiful soul will be so very missed.

Judy is survived by her husband Vince and her daughter Callan; her father, Wharton; brothers Ken and Greg Cindy and her sister Kathy Hank; her puppies Malibu and Snickers and favorite feline Sadie.

Memorial Service will be held at Mount of Olives Lutheran Church, 24772 Chrisanta Drive, Mission Viejo, 92691. There will be a celebration of Judy’s life and open house at the Belser residence immediately following. Vince and Callan wish to express their deepest gratitude to all of Judy’s wonderful family and dear friends for all their love and support. They also wish to acknowledge the caring and professional nursing staff of the SICU at Mission Hospital and Saddleback Hospital. Their kindness will always be remembered. Judy will always be remembered as a true instrument of the Lord’s peace.

I am so sorry. I worked with Judy at Dr. Pasko’s in Irvine many years ago. She was full of energy and passion. I considered her an excellent hygienist. She loved her family. I remember cute stories about her precious Callen. I am so sorry for your loss. May angels surround you!

I, too, met Judy at EcoQuest meetings. I was immediately drawn to Judy through her positive energy and that unforgettable smile. I am so shocked and saddened that she is no longer with us. The family should be proud to know that she was one terrific lady. She made a positive impact on anyone who had the good fortune of getting to know her. My sincerest condolences to the family for your loss.

  3. Dearest Family, All my prayers of support and comfort are offered on your behalf. Judy was a delightful spirit and I am so sorry for your loss. All my love and thoughts from Hawaii.

  4. Dear Callen and Vince, I truly was shocked to see this e-mail this morning. Judy and I go way back when we both had little girls who where 2 years old and we met eachother at Dr. Pasko’s office in Irvine. Judy and I became good friends and started taking the girls to the lake on our days off. Judy always had a sweet smile on her face. we had a lot of fun working in the dental office. We even got to see eachother when the girls got older and started playing softball. I remmember Megan got to be on Callen’s team, and how proud Judy was of Callen how she played and wow what a great softball player. I will miss Judy. but we all know that she was a beliver in Christ, and now she is with him.. God bless the family. Sincerely Sharon and Mike Hilgen

  5. Everytime I saw Judy walking with the dogs, it brightened my day. I could always count on Judy to bring warmth and joy to any conversation. The neighborhood will not be the same without her.
