Obituary

Sullivan, Toni J. – 81, of Irvine, California passed away on June 25, 2018. Toni was born and grew up in Elizabeth, New Jersey, earned a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Seton Hall University and an Ed.D. in nursing education from Columbia University. After a long and distinguished career of nursing service and scholarship, Toni retired in 1999 after leading nursing programs at Felician College, the University of Southern California and the University of Missouri.

Devoted mother of Jill Baker and her husband Eric Baker and James T. Sullivan, Jr. and his wife Kelly Douglass. Loving grandmother of four grandchildren. Dear sister of William W. Whelan, Jr. Toni is predeceased by her beloved husband James T. Sullivan and her dear sister Judith Whelan.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 30th at 2:00pm at O’Connor Mortuary, 25301 Alicia Parkway, Laguna Hills, CA.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Toni’s memory to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research (michaeljfox.org).

    Dr. Sullivan’s contributions to the Distance Nursing Program at California State University, Fullerton can not be overemphasized. We are grateful for her assistance in getting this program started in 2000 and in enabled countless students who could not attend a campus-based program to achieve their Bachelor’s Degree. Wishing comfort to her family.
