Obituary

Spencer Sandridge

Spencer Sandridge, age 27, the beloved son of Kaye and Jim Sandridge, passed away instantaneously in a fatal car accident on April 30th. He was born and raised in Flower Mound, Texas. He had lived in Orange County, CA the past four years, where he worked as a teller and later promoted to a personal banker at Wells Fargo. He was also finishing his college degree at Orange Coast College. He was committed to his rescue dog, Lazarus, and loved to spend time with him at the beach.

Spencer was an avid outdoorsman and excellent marksman who enjoyed hiking, camping and snow skiing. He achieved his first degree blackbelt in Tae Kwon Do at the young age of seven, and shortly thereafter earned his second degree black belt. He went on to become an Eagle Scout and was a member of the BSA Order of the Arrow. During high school he was active in the youth group at Triestch Memorial United Methodist Church. And enjoyed going on mission trips with them. While participating in the Marcus High School Band, they won multiple state championships, and was a member of the Drumline that won a national championship. His friends and coworkers remember him as a caring, generous, engaging, fun-loving, and intelligent young man.

He is survived by his parents, Jim and Kaye Sandridge, his younger sister, Shannon Sandridge as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.  In this time of social distancing and limited gathering, the family would appreciate your comments to celebrate and remember the accomplished, cherished life of Spencer.

  1. Spencer will forever be missed yet cherish and celebrated both on earth and Heaven. I had the honor of personally walking besides Spencer as a friend throughout most of his childhood life. I love his father like a brother and mother as a sister. Both Jim and Kaye raised Spencer with such respect for others that I cannot remember a time when he didn’t address me as “yes sir” or “Mr. Lynch”, which was not at all necessary but respect was a fabric of Spencer’s personality.
I will miss his contagious laugh, smile and kind eyes. Spencer always stood for what he believed in and sought to have fun at whatever task he was doing. Hence, the reason why he always said what most of us was thinking !!
I specifically remember the trip to San Marcos at Schlitterbahn water park. Spencer and I took a side diversion and floated down the lazy river talking about everything from girls to God. It didn’t matter if Spencer was in the outfield playing on the baseball team I coached or in the gym, he wanted everyone around him to be happy. He performed at a high level of excellence when he needed and other times was always thinking of the ones he loved. My love to the entire Sandridge family and peace be with you all.

  2. Jim , I am sorry hear about your son Spencer’s passing . My prayers go out to your family. Dante

  3. Jim and Kaye,
Jane and I were heartbroken to hear of Spencer’s death. There are no words that can possibly ease the sorrow and the pain you are feeling. It is obvious what a great person Spencer had grown to be and how proud you are of him. A child is with us; first in their lifetime, then forever in our memory. May your fondest memories of him guide you through this difficult time.
You are in our thoughts and prayers.
