Obituary

Spencer Sandridge

Spencer Sandridge, age 27, the beloved son of Kaye and Jim Sandridge, passed away instantaneously in a fatal car accident on April 30th. He was born and raised in Flower Mound, Texas. He had lived in Orange County, CA the past four years, where he worked as a teller and later promoted to a personal banker at Wells Fargo. He was also finishing his college degree at Orange Coast College. He was committed to his rescue dog, Lazarus, and loved to spend time with him at the beach.

Spencer was an avid outdoorsman and excellent marksman who enjoyed hiking, camping and snow skiing. He achieved his first degree blackbelt in Tae Kwon Do at the young age of seven, and shortly thereafter earned his second degree black belt. He went on to become an Eagle Scout and was a member of the BSA Order of the Arrow. During high school he was active in the youth group at Triestch Memorial United Methodist Church. And enjoyed going on mission trips with them. While participating in the Marcus High School Band, they won multiple state championships, and was a member of the Drumline that won a national championship. His friends and coworkers remember him as a caring, generous, engaging, fun-loving, and intelligent young man.

He is survived by his parents, Jim and Kaye Sandridge, his younger sister, Shannon Sandridge as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.  In this time of social distancing and limited gathering, the family would appreciate your comments to celebrate and remember the accomplished, cherished life of Spencer.

Spencer was a vibrant and caring young man. Although I wasn’t fortunate enough to spend a lot of time with him, the time I did spend will leave an impact. I’m praying for peace for him, his family and his friends. And I know that he is sitting in heaven praying for us too.

    Spencer,
You hardly frowned but when you did, you worked it out. You made an impact that is bigger than you or anybody could have imagined. Your presence still resonates with me and all those who knew you. The first time I ever had Raisin’ Canes was with you and I’ll eat some for you tonight.

Jim & Kaye – I don’t know the pain of losing a child. I DO know the pain of losing a brother & being left suddenly an only child. There is suddenly no one else to face the future in which your parents grow older & need help your help. It feels so lonely. While I didn’t know Shannon, I want to send her a special virtual hug because I understand the difficulties, anger & sorrow she will face ahead. I’ve been an observer of the pain my parents had having a child die. I pray y’all feel God’s loving presence through the difficult times ahead. I don’t know how anyone endures this kind of loss without faith in a Holy Father who also endured the death of a Son. Love & hugs for y’all, Pam Michrl

  4. Spencer made a lasting impression on me. I will always remember the day (about ten years ago) he did a fund raiser for his Eagle Scout Project at Trietsch by shining shoes for people while they attended church. People were happily walking around in their stocking feet at church while Spencer worked on their shoes. Everyone wanted to help him earn money for his Project. I was so touched by the popularity, originality, and diligence of this young man. He will truly be missed by so many.

What a fine young man Spencer Boyd Sandridge. I can recall Carson and Spencer roughhousing in the pool with their dads. So many of our favorite family memories include Spencer and Shannon. Spencer lived a full life, hitting so many goals in Karate, Eagle Scouts and the amazing Marcus Band.
I loved how close Spencer was to his family. His smile was infectious. As a child he was so beautiful, Gerber baby features. Kaye truly celebrated each milestone Spencer hit and it was a joy to watch. Jim and Spencer had countless adventures that were enviable. The hiking and camping were rigorous and Spencer loved it. Spencer’s adventure took him to California, and I am thrilled he was following his own path in the world and making a difference. His gentle spirit, kind eyes, and open heart allowing everyone to feel accepted. We will greatly miss Spencer in this life, but greatly rejoice he is with the Creator. We know he is now with his beloved grandmother(Jim’s mom) and having the most glorious time. Our love to the entire Sandridge family.
