Obituary

Natalie Marie Foster was born in Riverside California September 16, 1983. She died on April 13th, 2010 at home in San Clemente surrounded by her family.

Natalie was the baby of three girls and was stricken with Rett Syndrome a severe neurologic disease that affects girls both mentally and physically. She bravely fought for 26 years, which was more than predicted for her life. Natalie through it all was always a happy, congenial girl and for most of her life wore a big smile. She attended school and graduated from Tesoro High School special education program.

Although Natalie never spoke a word and spent the last 12 years of her life in a wheelchair, she had a lasting impact on all who knew her and left a special mark on this world.

She was the light of her family’s life and will forever be missed.

She was preceded in death by her older sister Christina who also died of complications of Rett Syndrome in December of 2000.

Natalie is survived by her mom Susan Foster, dad Ralph Foster, big sister Nicole Carlson, brother-in-law Craig Carlson, and niece Chloe Carlson.

Fly away our sweet angel, be with your sister free at last in a place free of pain, free to walk and run, free to talk to your hearts desire. We will miss you with all our hearts but we know that you are finally free at last in a place more beautiful than we can imagine.

Forever loved,
Mom, Dad, Nicole, Craig and Chloe

Of all the great Rett families, The Hunters, the Frys, and the Fosters have always stood out. I remember meeting you at the conference in 94 or 95, and hearing you and your wife speak, and I was stunned by the grace with which you both handled having been visited twice by the Rett “monster”. Godspeed.

  4. Dear Ralph, Suzie, Nichole, Craig and Chloe,

From around the world, to see this outpouring of love…is what Natalie was all about…Love. She touched so many lives. We feel privileged to be a part of the Foster family, as friends. We have become better people knowing such a devoted and wonderful family. You have shown us not only devotion, but courage, strenth, committment and friendship toward each other and to all of us, your friends. Thank-you for being a part of our lives, and letting us be a part of yours.

    We love you.

    Steve and Teresa Callinan

  5. Dear Ralph and family,
