Obituary

~ billyonthebass ~

A fine musician, talented artist, wonderful son, brother, cousin, nephew, uncle, friend, cat-dad, Best Husband.  Billy poured his entire heart & soul into every relationship, every gig, every chore.

He was an extraordinarily talented, gracious, kind and generous man.  His humor wicked, very silly, crude and came off sweet doin’ it.  Just hilarious.  Beautiful laugh, and a very handsome dude.

He was a God-Loving man…unpretentious, honest, gentle and strong.

Billy was the groove-master.  He could groove, man, and he never forgot that it was all about ‘one’.

‘Groove in Peace, Billy…ain’t no rest for the Funky’

We hope you can make it to Billy’s memorial service and / or the reception immediately following.

  3. Bill was a great teacher, he not only taught me the different steps connected to guitar but took it a step further and showed how it connected to life. He was my mentor and what he taught me will never leave me.

We had the pleasure of seeing Bill perform in the recitals and how the kids just clung to his every move. He was so friendly, kind and compassionate and our lives were all enriched just by his presence and his talent. May he be the head musician in Heaven’s music. Our sincerest condolences to all of the family.

Bill will always be an honorary Louisianian: it’s not where you’re born, it’s how you live. I will always be in awe of a *real* musician like Billy.
