  1. Uncle Dick,
I have so many memories of you from when I was a child, like when i accidentally hit you with a whiffle ball bat and was so relieved when you laughed and didn’t hit me back. Or when you had to pick the lock on the bathroom door at the Sun ‘n’Fun apartments to get Lynnie out. Or when you had to come find me after I got lost playing hide and seek in the dark outside the house in Dresher. I remember the Bachman models you gave me, especially the Scarlett Tanager, because I put it together and painted it all by myself. Of course, I still have several pair of your protective glasses….

Dad moved to Naples from Beach Haven, partly because of the weather, but mostly because of you and Aunt Duane. You became his best friend, and you looked after him when his health began to decline. Thank you for taking care of him (and my Aunt Duane) as well as you did.

  3. Good Evening,

Mom I wanted to say, “I loved Dad Redles very much.” I have been crying all week uncontrollably. It is okay for me to do this because you all have shared so much love with my family.

He smiled at my little family at Thanksgiving and at Christmas. I want you to know I will always be here to help Lynn, Glen, Jason and Julie. I feel like I want him back! I want to sit by dad at a St. Margaret’s game and scream for our boys Jason and Winston. I want to tell him jokes about who ever at dinner and whisper it in his ear. I want to watch mom, watch me, watch dad, (inside joke).

God Bless you all. Most of all I hope he ‘Dad Redles’ and my father becomes friends in heaven. Dad look for my mother she is 6 feet 1 inches and is a wonderful spiritual woman. She is pretty so don’t look to long for mom who is still here on earth will pinch you one day when she joins you. But not too soon, not too soon dad.

Thank you for all of your prayers for me. I love my new family in San Juan Capistrano and all the way accross the United States my beloved new brothers.

    Love always,

    Delgratia and family

  4. I have many wonderful memories of the man that I knew as “Mr. Redles”. He was a good father to my good friend, and good friend to my parents for years. He was always smiling and friendly to me as one of Lynnie’s friends. The Christmas Eve party at the Redles house in Dresher was something that we all looked forward to each year. My favorite memory is when Lynn and I filled up the shower stall with glass doors in the house in Dresher (apparently Lynnie got the idea from the Lucy show) and we were swimming in very deep water having a great time. That is until Mr. Redles started to get drips of water onto his newspaper in the family room!! Despite the damage that we caused, he did not lose his control, at least in front of me!! He is a part of my childhood and will be missed.

  5. We have many good times with Dick and Duane playing crazy bridge with Dick and his “key play”,and of course going to Penn State football games. Our favorite memory is from a New Years Eve party at the Schnellers. Dick began speaking like a Nazi officer. It was so funny! He must have just seen a German war movie(ie.”STALAG 17 or “Dirty Dozen”) his accent was perfect! Then Jim joined in and for the rest of the evening it was the two “German officers” taking over most of the conversation. Thanks for the years of laughs and memories.
