Obituary

In Loving Memory of Ricardo (Ricky) A. Vivas
Dec. 02, 1959 – Apr. 8, 2020

Ricky Vivas, age 60, passed away peacefully, after a long battle with pancreatic cancer, on Wednesday, April 8, 2020 at his own home in Laguna Niguel, California, as he wished. Ricky was born December 2, 1959 in Lima, Peru to Jose Vivas and Lucy Justo de Vivas.

He went to Champagnat school in Miraflores, Peru, where he was very much loved and recognized for his academic achievements and his athletic abilities, reason why he was also known as Astroboy.

He came to study in the U.S., where he graduated as an engineer from Chico State University in Chico, California. With hard work and tremendous effort, he became a successful professional on his field.

Ricky is survived by his children, Ricardo D. and Paula M. Vivas, who were the most important thing is his life. He is also survived by his siblings Jose (Tino) and Lucy Vivas de Casis.

He leaves behind a countless number of long-life friends, who will always remember his determined spirit and his generous heart.

He was always successful in any sport he played, and you could find him surfing the local waves, or playing soccer at the field, especially coaching his children Ricardo and Paula and their teams.

His funeral services will be held privately at O’Connor Mortuary on April 21, 2020.

    Rest in peace my friend!

  5. I had the privilege of meeting Ricardo in 2013 when he joined RMC in our Irvine office. He quickly changed the dynamic of our office with his light-hearted nature and fun attitude. My absolute favorite memory of Ricardo will be our lunch BBQs on our office patio, enjoying a glass of wine and cooking up sausages. He truly did make the office environment feel like a family.
I last spoke with Ricardo in February and he wanted me to give a hello to “the few, the proud, the RMC-blue carpet warriors”. I posted some fun videos of Ricardo from the office to the weblink below. https://woodardcurran-my.sharepoint.com/:f:/p/kerickson/Eh7DodRNMvFHvEf-eDCE18sBS6887PAIABsuB4uAQZkl5A?e=1QhGwm

You will be truly missed Ricardo as a wonderful friend and colleague.
