  1. Such an incredible man. He truly changed my life as well as many many others. My heart is breaking for his family and I’m sending all the love I got in the world. Thanks for making High School the opposite of what everyone warns you it will be.

  2. Nikil Grama says:

Almost a decade later, Mr. Wood’s music class remains one of my favorite memories from high school. You were a phenomenal teacher and a great inspiration to all of your students.

  3. Thank you Mr. Woods for bringing music into my life. It had a much greater impact than you will ever know.

  4. I was a student of Mr. Woods’ for several years. My mother and aunt went to DHHS and knew Mr. Woods, my aunt was in his class as well, and my grandmother worked in the same school district. Everyone in my family has such fond memories of Mr. Woods’ passion and tenacity. He was such a giver and had such a dedication to his school, his students, and SOCSA being a founding member. I feel for his family during this time, and I am happy to have been one of his students. He will be missed dearly.

  5. The world lost an absolutely incredible man this week.

His book may be over, but he will forever hold one of the most beautiful chapters of my life. There aren’t many people in this world as caring, talented, and altruistic as he was. Always pushing young talent and minds to their fullest potential.

He was the reason I’ve seen and performed at jazz clubs in New York, cathedrals in Spain and France, and opened so many cultural doors for me at a young age.

He is behind every fond academic memory I have from high school and his passion for the performing arts is what guided me into the career I have today.

I think of him at every concert I go to (especially the country ones because I know how much he hates those vocal slides)… And I continue to think of him when I sing on stage or with friends.

I am just 1 of thousands of students he inspired and shaped. I look forward to celebrating your life Friday. Rest In Peace Mr. Woods. Your influence will remain a part of my life forever. Thank you for all you have shared.
