Obituary

. ‘Only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile.’ —Albert Einstein

Doctor Marc Adam Lazzara was one of those men who could make you smile while he was injecting you by just cracking a joke or playfully teasing. Countless patients would walk out of his office with an immense grin on their face and a happy demeanor. Dr. Lazzara’s attributes extended into his family life, he was a dedicated and affectionate dad. He also became a second father to many of his children’s friends and to his own nephews and nieces. His personality can only be described as quirky, invigorating, ebullient and exuberant.

He was born in California on May 9, 1958 to David and Irene Lazzara. Dr. Lazzara was lovingly married to his wife Bernadette Tong for twenty years. They have two wonderful children, Kurt 18 and Audrey 15.

Dr. Lazzara received his undergraduate degree from Pepperdine University and his medical degree from Western University of Health Sciences-College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific in 1997. He obtained his Prolotherapy training from the Medical School of Wisconsin.

He has been helping people for eight years through his specialty in Prolotherapy, which dealt with underlying issues of chronic pain that affords a nonsurgical approach to musculoskeletal problems. Dr. Lazzara was the Program Chairman and President-elect of the National Prolotherapy Foundation, the American College of Osteopathic Schlerotheraputic Pain Management and sat on the Bureau of Osteopathic Specialty Societies for the guidance and overview of Osteopathic medicine.

He was more than a doctor, he was a thoughtful and fun father and friend. His attitude towards life was what really made Marc an exceptional and unparalleled person. Everyone who knows him well or only met him once is certain that God is laughing alongside Marc.

Marc Lazzara is survived by his wife Bernadette, son Kurt, daughter Audrey, parents David and Irene, siblings Cathy, David and Susan and numerous relatives and friends who loved him dearly.

  1. Dear Bernadette and Lazzara family,
I am so deeply sorry for the loss of Dr. Marc Adam Lazzara.
Though I only knew Dr. Lazzara as my doctor, I feel as though I have lost a cherished family member and friend. He was a man who gave hope and healing to those, like me, who thought that they had no other options. He was so very skilled and passionate about his practice and he was so incredibly dedicated to the health, well-being and recovery of his patients. His success at healing his patients was evident by the countless” Thank You” cards that covered the wall and table in his waiting room.
Dr. Lazzara had many people that depended on his knowledge and skill to improve their daily lives. Even though his office was always busy with the coming and going of patients, he always made each patient feel like they were the only one he was treating. In my own experience, he would never let me leave the room until he was convinced that I was no longer in pain. On the days that I had to endure the injections, he would always accommodate my fears by nearly using up all of the “cold spray” on my back so that I would not feel too much pain. Even though that took up more time, he was happy to use every can if he had to, if that meant I was not going to be afraid. During the procedure, he would keep my mind busy by lovingly talking about his family and friends, and asking me about the latest in my life. His sense of humor and “Teddy Bear”-like persona made getting 24 injections into my back actually bearable. Though I always thanked him after every visit, I don’t think I could have ever thanked him enough for giving me back my life.
It is because of Dr. Lazzara that I, and his many other grateful patients, can live a healthy, happier and fuller life. He had a truly unique and special gift of healing and nurturing bodies and souls. I feel incredibly grateful to have known Dr. Lazzara”°Ã¢”šÂ¬?.I always felt as though my back injury was such a great misfortune, but now I realize that my injury allowed me to know and love a truly great man, and to have not known him would have been the greatest misfortune of all.
    With deepest sympathy,
    Christy Davies
