Obituary

Kon T McQuiston, 3/2/1956 – 11/30/2007, was born and raised in Greentown, Indiana to Paul and Monelle McQuiston. He graduated from Eastern High School in Greentown in 1974. Kon completed his Bachelors of Science Degree in Building Construction and Contracting at Purdue University in 1978.

He married Mary Ann Sexton in 1980 and settled in Orange County, California in 1985 and started their family.

Kon began his career in the construction industry in Michigan working on large scale power plant projects. He then moved to California in 1985 working in the Power Industry for Southern California Edison. He later started his own business, Distributed Power Services Inc. and eventually moved on to alternative energy projects with EnerTech Environmental, Inc.

Kon and his family have been members of the Laguna Beach United Methodist Church since 1985. He enjoyed traveling, woodworking, photography, model trains, and off-roading on the Colorado River with his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Monelle McQuiston. In addition to his wife, Ann, and sons, Ben and Alex, he is survived by his sister, Karen Byrd of Hemet, California, brothers, Kent and wife, Donna, of Indianapolis, Indiana, Kirk and wife, Sue, of Lowell, Indiana, and Kyle and wife, Karen, of Shawnee, Kansas.

A Memorial Services will be held at the Laguna Beach United Methodist Church, 21632 Wesley Drive, Laguna Beach, California 92651 on Friday, December 7, 2007 at 11:00AM. Additional information and on-line condolences can be found on www.oconnormortuary.com.

  2. We are aunt/uncle to Lauren on her mom’s side Jeff is Lauren’s mom’s brother. We met Ben at Thanksgiving and he is a very nice young man. We are sorry about your loss and will keep your family in our prayers.

  4. To the wonderful McQuiston family. Our deepest sympathies to you all. Darcy and I have many fond memories at Laguna Hills High. Most of those centered around the theater and the performances we shared with all of you. We appreciated all of the support and particpation of the McQuiston clan.
