Well old man, our journey together has come to an end. I know in my heart you are better off now, but even knowing that will never ease the pain, or emptiness, your absence causes. Even though I rarely ever called you Dad!, that is what you truly were to me. You taught me so much, and never gave up on me. I joined the Navy because of you, and because of that I became a much better person, than I would have otherwise been. My life will never be the same without you, and I will never stop loving you. You were, and always will be my Father. So from one sailor to another, Rest your Oars Shipmate I have the watch. Fair Winds and Following seas!

Love and miss you Dad. Will watch over Pattie. It’s a bit quieter in the house now without your kitchen activities and constantly changing the TV channels.
Love from your #1 son…

Joe,
I remember when I first met you I thought you were a little grumpy bear! But after seeing you everyday for a few months you turned out to be one of my favorite patients! You were so nice and funny! May you Rest In Peace…
Pattie and family, I’m truly sorry for your loss.
