  1. I remember moving into our house on Las Tunas and Cindy and John being the first people to welcome us. I loved their mid-western values and how once you met them, you were family. We lost touch over the years, but the memories of our children playing together, neighborhood parties, and the comfort of knowing you could count on the Clunes for anything, will always have a special place in my heart. John was a really good man, and that is all we can ask of anyone.

I had the pleasure of working with John for the past year. I will miss his incredible sense of humor and sarcasm… You had us rolling when you told us stories about being in the Marines and shuttling. You were a perfectionist, a hard worker, caring and very witty. You will be missed… Thoughts and prayers to your family and friends.

John was my friend and work associate; the place is not the same without his gentle, kind, and always helpful presence. I miss the daily chats. Though our paths crossed only a year ago, he was to me an old friend. His absence is a very large void. God speed, my friend. Jim Brech (shuttle Jim)

I worked with John for about 2 years. We became close, we used to laugh together all the time. We shared a lot of inside jokes. One of the things we shared was his, “where in Irvine” line. Customers would sign up for the shuttle and put that they were going to Irvine. And as we all know, Irvine is a big city. His response with a priceless expression would always be, “where in Irvine”?! And it was a funny thing that myself and the rest of the wonderful gals we all worked with shared with each other. John always had great stories to tell about his Marine days, and his food service days. He would sometimes drive me across the street to Mr. Pickles, my favorite local sandwich shop so I wouldn’t have to j-walk. He would also feed me some of his Atkins bars sometimes. He always had them on hand. We laughed a lot, and I really enjoyed John and I will miss laughing with him so much.

    Cindy and Family,
There just are not words to ease the pain. John will be so missed. Friday night dinners will never be the same now. God bless all of you.
