Obituary
J.C. Haefner, DVM, February 4, 1942 to August 11, 2009 passed away after an extended illness. She is survived by her two sons, Steven and James, and six grandchildren. J.C. was born to Dick and Clara Hill in Detroit MI. She graduated from Michigan State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1965. J.C. and her husband William opened a successful veterinarian practice in Pontiac Michigan. In 1981, she moved to Fountain Valley, CA and ultimately began her own practice. J.C. was an exceptionally generous person. She donated both time and money to numerous charitable organizations including the San Diego Zoological Society and Michigan State University. She was an active board member of the MSU Alumni Club of Orange County. Above all, J.C. was deeply loved by her family, friends, and her ‘kitties.’ She will be sorely missed by all of those that she touched.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 17th at O’Connor Mortuary Laguna Hills Chapel in Laguna Hills, CA. A short viewing will begin promptly at 12:00 noon followed by a formal memorial service at 1:00 pm. A graveside service at El Toro Memorial Park will take place shortly after 2:00 pm. Jim and Autumn Haefner will be hosting a reception to celebrate her life at their home in Aliso Viejo immediately following the graveside service that is estimated to begin at 3:30 pm.

2:00 p.m. – Graveside Service – El Toro Memorial Park
3:30 p.m. – Reception – James & Autumn Haefner, 47 Coastal Oak, Aliso Viejo, CA 92656
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to San Diego Zoological Society at 2920 Zoo Dr., San Diego, CA 92101.

Deepest sympathy to Judy’s family from Diane Johnson and Marion Hickey. We are old time cottage neighbors and friends. Times spent together at the cottage as “KIDS” will never be forgotten. She was the best friend I had during those years.

Dear Steven and Jim…On behalf of my mother Frances Berg and I, we want to express our deepest sympathies to you and your families over the loss of your Mother. She was a caring and generous person. When my mom was experiencing a major transition in her own life a couple of years ago, Judi was right there to help. Dear Steven and Jim,

JC Dr. Judy to me was a very caring and compassionate person — not only to us humans but especially to her furry friends. My Schnauzer Pfeffer lived a long and happy life thanks to her wonderful care and skill. I will remember her smile, energy for life and friendship.

J.C. was the greatest friend,boss,and a seraget mother to me. I worked for her for 11yrs and have nown her for 20. I am sorry to say that there will be a void in my life as wel as others i now, However we will meet her again as she has gone to take care of the animals in our kingdom.
