Obituary

Deane Girard Marfone
September 6, 1955- March 3, 2021

Deane passed away after a long battle with Atypical Parkinson’s at the age of 65.

Deane was born in Troy, New York to Patrick and Celia Marfone. They moved to King of Prussia, Pennsylvania when he was one. He went to Upper Merion High School and then on to Lehigh University. He moved to Southern California in the early 80’s but was always just a guy from Philly.

Singing the Lehigh Fight song at the top of his lungs, yelling “Let’s go Flyers” even when they weren’t the team that was playing, and a forever Eagles fan. He was beyond thrilled to see the Superbowl Win and kept saying ” I can’t believe they finally did it”.

Deane was in sales his whole career. He made many friends along the way and always kept in contact with them, asking about their families because Deane was first and foremost a family guy.

He was an amazing husband and father. Many of the friends he made came from coaching his kids on the soccer field, baseball diamond and softball field. If he wasn’t the coach, you always could hear Deane cheering on his kids from the sidelines. He was their number one fan.

He is survived by his wife of thirty years, Chris, his four children – Olivia (29), Isabella (28), Celia (27), and Vincent (25), his brother Patrick Jr. (wife, Linda), and his many nieces, nephews, and friends from coast to coast.

Funeral Service will be April 5th at Mission Basilica @ 11am

Chrissy, you and your family have been in our thoughts and prayers. Remembering Deane brings a smile to my face. I remember meeting him for the first time 17ish years ago and he was kind, welcoming and truly the life of the party. One of my favorite memories of the two of you was at a WindRiver President’s Club, you were both lounging by the side of the pool with big goals; to drink the left side of the menu 🙂 Still cracks me up. Deane truly lived and loved. And, Corey always spoke so highly of Deane. I know he appreciated his friendship and leadership. Sending love and prayers.

Just heard about Deane. I had the pleasure of working with Deane at Shade Information Systems in the late 70s and early 80s, when I was District Manager at Shade. Deane was an excellent salesman and a wonderful friend.
