Obituary

Kewell, Carol Ann of Ladera Ranch. Our beloved mother and grandmother went to be with our Lord Sunday, June 22, at the age of 74 with her 3 children by her side.

Born July 9, 1933 in Long Beach, Ca. Mom grew up there and later moved to Arcadia where she was a 1951 graduate of Monrovia-Arcadia-Duarte High School.

At the age of 18, she married her high school sweetheart, Bill Kewell, Jr., and their marriage lasted for 36 years until Bill’s untimely death in 1988. They lived in West Covina for 22 years before moving back to her place of birth in 1982.

Mom was a beautiful, intelligent woman whose spirit and love enriched the lives of all who knew her. Mom loved nothing more than spending time with her kids, grandkids, and more recently, her two great-granddaughters, whom she visited often on iChat. She was passionate about classical music, reading, spending time at the beach and doing the New York Times crossword puzzle every day in ink. Mom was very gifted at needlepoint as well.

She supported many charitable causes including CHOC, where she volunteered for many years, libraries, and school music programs. She also was an ardent and generous supporter of the University of Southern California Fight On!.

Mom is survived by her three children, Bill Kewell, III, Elizabeth Kewell Davis and Karen Kewell Jacoby, eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and her beloved sister Joan Randall.

  1. Your mother was a very special lady and will be remembered for her kindness and contagious laugh. She was an admirable woman, generous and patient. There are so many fond memories we shared with your family at the beach many years ago. Every year Carol faithfully sent a beautiful Christmas card with a picture of the Family she loved so much. Hold that close to your heart. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
    Love,
    Ann Marie
