Dear Sue and Roy, We have memories to share. Brady and
David became playmates when they were three years old. They made armies and forts in the backyard along with ramps and matchbox cars. In the living room they built tents between chairs and our family room had trains, tracks and lego buildings.
some of the best times were afternoons at Knotts Berry Farm and trips to Huntington Beach and then eating ice cream cones on our way home. We had fun! We will always have these happy times to remember. Love & prayers,
    Jane & Dave Mohr

  4. Dear Sue,Roy and Family, (from Nancy).

Brady was one of the boys on our street. There was Brady,Chris, David, Steve,Scott, Rich, Danny, Eric Myiadi, Cress Meyers and Brian.

What a wonderful group they were. Never never a fight. They all liked each othe. We were so blessed.

If they were not at the Kelloggs or the Mohrs they could be at the DeWitt’s jumping into the pool yelling “Marco Polo”.

Brady and the boys loved to do cannon balls into the pool. Oh what fun they had – and such energy – so much laughter and fun all on beautiful summer days.

Sometime the boys played war (If only the world ONLY played war)

They would make a fort using our garbage cans. My son Scott always wanted to be Hitler. (I like to think because he was the only one who had a real uniform. (Lou’s old Western Airlines brown uniform (Sue’s favorite color).

The girls came to intertain the troops. Dancing girls doing the can can number. Lourie, Leslie, Kim – You know you had to kick your legs up really high..

What wonerful fun they had in their tiny fort by the garbage cans.

    The neighborhood was always safe.

If Sue, Jane, Doris, or Nancy wasn’t watching Ms. Porter was. Remember Ms.Porter? She was a beacon to all the kids. She had a little opening in her front door and if she wasn’t receiving company she’s slip a piece of gum or candy out to her small visitors. What a blessing she was to our kids and to all of us “big kids too”.

She taught school for so many years. She loved all our kids. I remember her telling me about a little boy in her class who’d done something bad. She sent him to the coat room (remember those days?) Well, the little boy proceeded to cut the buttons off all the other kids coats. She had to call the parents and explain.

Ms. Porter was a part of Brady’s life on our block. If she were here she would grieve for him and his wonderful parents, and for his brother Chris and his sisters Laurie and Cheryl.

There were camping trips to O’neil Park the creeks, the swinging rope on the tree limbs, the sliding down the side of the hill, the trying to escape Mr. DeWitt who was the “monster in the woods”, eating out picnic style, stop offs at the KMart Store to obtain model airplanes and balls and other things and eating ice cream cones.

Remembering the Holidays like the 4th of July when we always had a huge block party. Roy was in charge of the fireworks. Roy blew his sock off when checking on a fire work that had a longer fuse than anyone of us could imagine. The kids had so much fun and we all still laugh to this day when we think of it.

Our hearts are heavy when we think of Brady.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.

  5. Dear Uncle Roy and Aunt Sue,

I was shocked and very saddened to hear the news of Brady’s passing. Brady was a great guy and I have nothing but happy memories of hanging out with him when we were growing up. I’ll never forget him riding me around your neighborhood in Westminster on the back of his motorcycle, I think it was for Halloween or Christmas, to look at decorations on all the houses and all the people out. It seems silly but it was something that stuck with me.

I and my men’s fellowship at church have been praying for Brady’s eternal rest, and peace and strength for your whole family and for Brady’s wife, and will continue to.

    Love,
    Michael
