   Bill or “Coach” Steinriede is one of the greatest humans I have ever known. Always up beat with a great sense of humor. Athletic in a variety of sports, he was gifted. I will miss him very much. Even though he was a teacher when I was in high school, he could relate with us on our level and we respected him for that. He is in a better place. God bless him. I feel very fortunate that he is part of my life. Bill, you are loved.

   Was shocked to read of Bill’s passing in today’s sports section. Steiny will be missed by all who knew him. He literally saved my son’s life. Graham came here in 1989 as a skinny freshman kid from Texas. Steiny took him under his wing. Later, Graham played golf at Baylor University, largely due to Steiny’s influence. Thank you, Coach, and especially to your family. The World will miss that special sense of humor and there’s a hole in the Golf World now.
