Obituary

Anyone who knew Tony knew what an exceptional, one of a kind guy he was. He never met a stranger. He was bigger than life and an absolute force that left a lasting impression on anyone who knew him. For those reasons, so many of us are left with a gaping hole in his absence.  His death should not overshadow the huge and full life Tony had. He left behind the love of his life, Lucinda, as well as his 3 amazing daughters, his mother, brothers and sister who loved him unconditionally. Needless to say that he has also left behind many, many friends who held him near to their hearts. Anyone who feels so inclined to donate can rest assured that the funds will go to creating a lasting and memorable tribute that Tony deserves.

Lucinda and the Van Vliet Family,

Like many I am still in shock and at a loss for words on how to express how sorry I am for loosing our friend Tony. We shared many good times together and I always looked forward to seeing Tony on the Tortuga ride as much as anyone. His smile will never be forgotten. Hope you are fishing with your dad in heaven and enjoying a good glass of wine my friend.

I will be at the memorial mass to celebrate Tony’s life.

  2. Dear van Vliet family I am thinking of you all and sending my condolences too. I am so sorry. You are such a wonderful loving family.

I’m so very sorry for all of Tony’s family.
I went to high school with Tony and remember his amazing spirit and kindness. He was always living life to the fullest. Although he will be greatly missed, he will live in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
