Going it Alone Doesn’t Work: How Social Support Makes a Difference in Grief

The global pandemic has taught us a lot but one lesson endures: social isolation is not good for the soul. Of course those who support people in bereavement have known that for a long time but the last few years have laid bare how dependent we are on the connections we have with others. And let’s face it: Zoom just doesn’t do the same things for us that face-to-face interaction does.

In this fast-paced workshop, we’ll discover together why social support is so fundamental to the grief process. We’ll talk together about ways to build social connections that endure when circumstances prevent our face-to-face interaction. And, we’ll think together about how social isolation is not only counterproductive to our emotional health; it is not the way we were designed spiritually, either.
