YVONNE E. MULLOY
JUNE 5, 1926 – MAY 22, 2023

With profound sorrow, we mourn the loss of our cherished Mother, Yvonne E. Mulloy, who passed away on May 22, 2023. Yvonne was the cornerstone of our family for a century, and her absence leaves an irreplaceable void in our lives. Born on June 5, 1926, she captivated us with countless extraordinary tales from her childhood in England, providing us with a glimpse into a bygone era.

Yvonne spent her formative years navigating the tumultuous landscape of World War II, where she experienced the harsh realities of life under constant threat. She often recounted stories of enduring air raids and the profound resilience exhibited by her community during those trying times. In a testament to her courage and dedication, she joined the Royal Navy at the tender age of 17 and acquired the skill of extinguishing incendiary bombs. It was during this chapter of her life that fate brought her together with our beloved father, Ollie Mulloy.

In 1943, Yvonne crossed paths with Ollie, an American 2nd Lieutenant stationed in England. Their connection was instant and enduring. In 1946, they exchanged vows at St. Mary’s in Riddlesden, England, sealing their bond in the aftermath of war. Yvonne became a war bride, embarking on a voyage across the Atlantic on the US/AT Jarrett Ship, braving 14 days at sea to reunite with her husband in the United States. From that moment forward, they shared an extraordinary love story, residing in America and building a life filled with joy, love, and cherished memories.

Yvonne’s memory will forever be treasured by her family. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ollie Mulloy, and survived by her four children, Sherilyn Y. Best and her husband Bill, Tony Mulloy and his wife Laura, Dori Sampson and her husband Dave, and Sabrina Jansen and her husband Allen. Yvonne’s love extends to her grandchildren, Trey Best, Shallie Lucas (husband Greg), Evan Mulloy, Josh Mulloy (wife Camille), Tanner Jansen, Juliette Jansen, as well as her great-grandchildren, Brittany Best, Ashlee Patrick and Tyler Lucas.

Throughout her life, Yvonne found solace and companionship in her dearest sweet puppy, Tilly, who faithfully stood by her side until the very end. We promise to care for Tilly with the same love and devotion that Yvonne bestowed upon her.

Yvonne E. Mulloy will forever remain etched in our hearts and memories as a woman of courage, resilience, and unwavering love. Her legacy will continue to inspire us as we navigate life’s challenges with the same indomitable spirit she exemplified. May she find eternal peace in the embrace of her beloved Ollie and may her soul forever bask in the light of the love she shared with her family.

In honor of Yvonne’s memory and her love for animals, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Family Dog & Puppy Rescue, a 501c(3) non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing and providing a loving home for dogs in need.
