Dear Silke,
I hope to see you again somewhere out there in the Universe. We were good friends for over 20 years and we had great fun together. I will never forget when I asked you to bring me Milka chocolate from Germany and you showed up with a huge plastic bag full of chocolates and drop them on my desk during class. I had chocolates in the fridge for over 1 year (and i am a chocoholic).
And the time we both went down to Ensenada for the weekend. We camped at a friends backyard; forgot to turn off sprinklers and woke up cold and wet. Neverthless, it was worth just seeing how much you enjoyed the flan at the Mexican buffet breakfast place. You had so many empty plates of flan that the waiter rushed to take your silverware away so you would stop eating the pudding. we laughed about that for days.
You were my best friend Silke. I will never forget you.
Auf Wiedersehen.

Dear Silke, you were one of my closest friends, someone I could talk to often and about anything … and talk we did for many, many years and did much more than that. We enjoyed meeting at the pool, park, jumping trampoline with the girls, movies, restaurants, Soup Plantation, cooking class, visiting at each other’s houses and just talking on the phone. We did so many things together. I am going to miss all that and more. I miss you so much already. I am broken hearted and feel an emptiness in my soul without you. But, I’m happy for the special friendship we shared for five years. You were an amazing friend and mother. Your strength was unbelievable! You endured so much pain for the sake of your children. You fought the longest battle of your life and never gave up hope, not even at the end. You did everything you could possibly do. May you rest in peace! I will always remember you!
