Roberta O’Hara

June 21, 1964 – April 18, 2021

Roberta O’Hara, aged 56, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2021.  Roberta was born to Armando and Rosemary Castaneda on June 21, 1964 and was raised in La Mirada, CA.  Roberta was married to George O’Hara for 32 years and they had one child together, Taylor Rose O’Hara.  She opened her heart to stepchildren, Brian, and Kathy O’Hara.  Roberta and George resided in Henderson, NV.  She began her career in Orange County, CA and honed her skills in payroll and human resources management.  Roberta truly enjoyed her work and colleagues at Nevada Legal Services as Payroll and HR Manager where she worked for the last 12 years to just before passing.  To all those who knew Roberta, she was a devoted mother and wife, loving sister, daughter, and friend.

Roberta was smart, sharp, vibrant, funny, and always up for an adventure.  She enjoyed life to its fullest and took advantage of the myriad of shows and music in Las Vegas, river trips in Bull Head City with family, weekly trivial pursuit tournaments, and adventures from New York to Oregon with family, friends, and cousins.  When she wasn’t working or traveling, she was dedicated to her health and fitness and enjoyed all types of fitness classes.  She had a beautiful, fun, engaging spirit and was always the life of the party.

Roberta fought courageously through her battle with breast cancer and though her light no longer shines on earth, Roberta’s eternal life gives those she leaves behind great comfort.  The family will be having a “Celebration of Life” to honor this wonderful lady who we all sorely miss:  Saturday, May 29, 2021 10:30 a.m. at Saint Killian Catholic Church, 26872 Estanciero Drive, Mission Viejo, CA  92691.

  1. I worked with Roberta up till I retired from the Reno office in 2017. She was a joy to work with and always helped when needed she will be missed.

  2. I met Roberta at NLS about 10 years ago now and she was totally not what I was expecting. She was so much more than her job. She cared about NLS and the staff and made you want to do more for them. I can’t believe it and it is a shock to me that she is gone.

  3. May you Rest In Peace Roberta !! We will never forget our fun memories with you
