Obituary
Robert Lee Flowers
July 2, 1947 – November 13, 2022
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Robert (Bob) Flowers on November 13, 2022. He had his wife, three children and son-in-law by his side as he took his final breath and entered the gates of heaven. Bob was our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend to all.
Bob was born July 2, 1947 to Priar (Pete) and Genevieve Flowers in Richland Center, Wisconsin.
He graduated from Semmes High School in Mobile, Alabama and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, serving 21 years on active duty, retiring as a Master Sergeant followed by an additional 29 years of military Civil Service at Vandenberg A.F.B. in Lompoc, CA.
His second military assignment led him across the world to Incirlik Air Base, Turkey. Here he met and married the love of his life, Türkan. They were so blessed to celebrate 54 years of marriage with 4 children..
Bob was known for his witty humor (sarcasm), selflessness, and love for his family. He made everyone feel so special and loved!
Together with his wife Türkan, they enjoyed spontaneous road trips across America to visit family and friends and created lifelong friendships around the world. He was a faithful man of God and loved the book of Proverbs. Bob was the patriarch of the family and so full of wisdom, great ideas, and always an ear to listen and shoulder to lean on. He could fix or paint anything. He mentored many men throughout his life and extended his love to so many.
Bob was preceded in death by his mother, Genevieve, father, Priar, brother, Charles, and son, Brian. He is survived by his wife, Türkan, his daughter Rebecca (Mark) Carlson, sons Thomas (Angela McGaffin) Flowers and Jason Flowers. He will be deeply missed by his 7 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter. Melanee (Demani) Ergani, Kassandra (Storm) Silva, Aidan Carlson, Kayla & Skye Flowers-McGaffin, and great-granddaughter Scarlett Silva. His surviving brothers are Richard, James and Kenneth along with many extended family members.
Bob was cremated and a private viewing was held for immediate family. A celebration of his life and legacy will be planned for a future date.
“Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. And you know the way to where I am going.” -John 14:1-4
