Obituary
Robert Joseph Johnson
“Bob”
Robert J. Johnson, 72, of Mission Viejo, CA, passed into eternal life on February 4, 2022.
Bob was strengthened and comforted by the presence of his family when he passed. Bob is survived by his wife Pamela, his three children: Racheal Yard, Christopher Johnson, and Sarah Villegas-Johnson; and his nine grandchildren: Parker Yard (23), Madison Malfavon (23), Charlotte Yard (19), Lincoln Yard (18), Isaiah Malfavon (17), Curren Johnson (11), Ezekiel Villegas (11), Zion Villegas (9), and Ezra Villegas (5); and his siblings Judy Gierke, Jane Wilcox, Myra Paul, and David Johnson.
Bob was a man of great faith, integrity, and valor. He was a hero and living example of the high bar of excellence he set for himself. He walked this life well and exhibited love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. He was an attentive, adventurous, story-telling husband/father/grandfather who passionately loved his family. Bob’s life was defined by these qualities because he followed and modeled the example set before him by his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. When you met Bob or knew him closely, there was a quality that stayed with you and it’s because he believed and put his faith to practice. He will be greatly missed by all who were touched by him in this life.
Married in July of 1969, he enlisted in the Army and was stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska. He had a great love and respect for his country. He obtained a theological degree and a sound engineering degree and continued on with a career in the hospitality industry for the next 40 years. This included Disneyland, the Anaheim Hilton, and the California Narcotics Officers Association (CNOA).

I will remember Bob as a dedicated provider for his family. I saw him happiest when the whole family was around him at home. Bob and Pam were the first Saddleback Church small group leaders that my husband Robert and I had and we were friends for over 20 years. After my husband Robert passed away, Bob became more of a Christian brother to me when he and Pam included me in their family holiday celebrations, Thai restaurant meals and as an overnight guest in their home. Bob had a strong work ethic, took his responsibilities seriously and was dependable. He managed and handled difficult details for others sparing them from stress, worry and headaches so that they could enjoy life more.
