Obituary

Patricia Hultin was born on November 4, 1937 in Denver, Colorado to Peter and Marguerite Hansen, and went home to Jesus on December 25, 2015. She had 4 siblings: Michael, Frances, Kenneth, and Larry. Her brothers Michael, Kenneth, and Larry preceded her in death.

She was married to Richard (Dick) Hultin for 54 years and raised 3 children together. She was a loving Mom to Anne, Duane, and Susan; Grandma to 4: David, Phillip, Chelsey, and Melissa, and a very proud Great Grandma to Audrey.

Patricia was a devout Catholic all her life, and had a special affinity for Our Lady, and Jesus in the Divine Mercy. She was a member of the Cursillo Community, having served in just about every role that was available. She was also a very active member in the Orange County Women’s Magnificat Prayer Group, and had a very deep devotion to praying for the souls in purgatory. She was very active in St. Nicholas Parish, serving as a CCD teacher for 3rd and 7th graders for over 30 years, and was very involved in the resettlement activities of the Vietnamese refugees in the early 1970’s.

Patricia was a very fun-loving, faithful, strong and intelligent woman who fiercely loved her family. She fought and beat stage 4 cancer out of sheer will and faith in God and relied on that faith to get her through whatever trial was sent her way. She loved to travel and went on many pilgrimages and was blessed to be able to travel to Russia on one of her many trips.

Her last day with us was spent laughing, loving, and enjoying the family at Christmas Dinner. She was joyful, happy, and at peace. We will always remember her this way. Well done, good and faithful servant. Welcome to Paradise.

I have a lifetime of great memories growing up so close to my aunt Patty. She was always a close and active part of my family’s lives. I have great memories of her and my mom playing off each other’s stories like a fine tuned machine, never missing a beat as they came up with the most far fetched stories of their past. Sometimes I would wonder if they actually believed what they were saying because they were so good at it. I remember when we would all get together and Patty would tell us to clean up our toys so they could leave that we still had a good 30 minutes to an hour to play while her and my mom said their goodbyes. Maybe this is why God took you so quickly without warning, He didn’t have the time for you to say your goodbyes.
I love you Patty and thank you for the life time of fun memories I will always have and the spiritual example you will always be.
    RIP my beautiful aunt.

Dear Susan, Mike, Melissa Duane & Anne….I have so many fond memories of your Mother. I spent much of my high school years at your home in Mission Viejo and have many wonderful memories of both your Mom & Dad. Susan, I especially remember how your Mom loved to drink pepsi & I will never forgot how she loved Christmas so much that she would keep the Christmas tree up in the house until March or April!! She was a wonderful woman and you all should be proud to have such a wonderful family. Love to you all and I wish you find solace and comfort with each other during this difficult time.

  4. I am SO glad that I got to know what a wonderful family that Dick and Pat raised! I will miss her SO MUCH! But knowing she is in Heaven with your Dad, makes it a little easier. I will always miss her beautiful smile and her love for her family. DeColores Pat, until we meet again in Heaven. Love to the Hultin family.
