Obituary
Ninetta Maxine Chapman, LCDR USN, resided in Laguna Woods, CA for 38 years, then Villa Valencia, Laguna Hills, CA.
Born in Washington, Indiana.
Graduate of Indiana University School of Nursing, 1937 Sigma Theta Tau and member of Pi Beta Phi.
Nursing Supervisor of Coleman Women’s Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana for five years.
In 1943, Ms. Chapman joined the American Red Cross and enlisted in the Navy Nurse Corps. She continuously served, caring for our brave forces in the Navy and Marine corps and families until 1968 where her final two years of duty were served at Marine Corps Air Station El Toro, California as LCDR.
In retirement Ms. Chapman was a volunteer for the American Red Cross Bloodmobile and for the Braille Institute. She was a participant in the 90+ Study of UC Irvine and donated her brain to their instutute on research for brain aging.
Surviving family are sister, Emmajean C.Fuller of Greenwood, IN; niece, Jacqueline C.Hudson of Greenwood, IN and niece, Marsha F. Price of Laguna Woods, CA. Ms. Chapman has four great-nieces and -nephews.

My husband Tony, and I, will forever share numerous memories of the time spent with Ninetta. She was my late mother’s closest friend. We proudly looked upon her as extended family. Rest in peace, our dear friend. We love you.

Our prayers are with you all in the passing of your beloved Ninetta. We have such fond memories of staying with herwhere you now live, Marsha when we vacationed with Jack and Jean years ago. She was the perfect hostess – a truly lovely lady.
