Obituary

Moss Scott West III, born July 4, 1943 in Gross Pointe Woods, MI, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2011.

Scott moved to Nebraska in 1957 with his parents and two sisters. He graduated Southeast High School in Lincoln, NE and joined the US Navy right out of high school.

Scott moved to Laguna Hills, CA with his wife and three daughters in 1982.

Scott was preceded in death by his wife Judith Ann West and father Moss Scott West Jr. He is survived by his mother Irma West; sisters Laura Cullen and Jan Sundblad; daughters Wendy Hess, Kerry West and Renee Ripley; grandchildren Nathan Hess, Logan Hess, Jaxon Ripley and Nikoli Ripley, and long time companion Rachel Koel.

Scott enjoyed life by spending time with his family. He was a devoted father and grandfather. He was an amazing photographer and always had his camera with him. He enjoyed visiting art galleries, museums, and plays around the world. He spent much of his free time at the beach, walking and hiking.

On Saturday, October 15, services will be held at Heritage Park in Dana Point, CA at 10:30am. After the services, there will be a private burial at sea, and then a reception at the home of Rob and Renee Ripley in San Clemente, CA at 3:00 pm.
