Obituary
Mary Louise Anderson Gregg, 93, of Aliso Viejo, California, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to all, died on June 20, 2017. She passed away, peacefully, in her daughter and son-in-law’s arms. She was born on August 3, 1923 in Los Angeles, California to Kathleen Shuford and Edward Baker Anderson.
Mary Lou grew up in Los Angeles and graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Dietetics from UCLA. She had a distinguished and enjoyable career and worked at UCLA Medical Center and the Beverly Hills Clinic, where she was Dietitian to many Hollywood stars. Mary Lou and her husband, Howard, adopted two girls, and at that time, Mary Lou decided to retire to stay home with her two babies. Retirement did not stop her from being involved in so many things: she was President of the PTA, a Sunday school teacher for her children and volunteered for many different charities. She was very involved in the First Baptist Church of Van Nuys’ Women’s Circle, and worked diligently to help missionaries and their families abroad.
Mary Lou was an avid reader, loved to cook, entertain and travel. She adored birds, her favorite being the hummingbird. She sent greeting cards for all holidays and birthdays to everyone she knew.
She is survived by her daughters, Lori LoCurto, Kathleen MacCleverty, sons-in-law RJ LoCurto and Gary MacCleverty. Her grandchildren are: Jeremy, Casey, Michael, Riley, Andrew, Meghan, Tara, Brendan and Caitlin. Her great-grandchildren are: Mason, Skye, Emma, Serenity and MJ.
Everyone who knew her loved her and her amazing smile. Mary Lou was one of God’s angels, placed on earth.
Visitation will be held at O’Connor Mortuary (25301 Alicia Parkway, Laguna Hills) on Thursday, June 29, 2017 from 4pm-6pm. Her burial will take place on June 30, 2017 at Forest Lawn (6300 Forest Lawn Drive, Los Angeles) at 10 am. Dearest Kathleen and good husband Gary,
You two have been loving, earthly angels to a most wonderful human being, Mary Louise Gregg. You three, along with loving grandchildren have done a fine job of lighting up the world a bit more with your smiles along with Mary Louise’s and it has been easy to see that such bountiful love has spread around to all whom have been near… likely far, too!
Mary Louise, may you continue to send your loving vibrations to all of us.
With our return of Love & Hugs, Marlene & Bruce
