Mary Ann Larsen
September 16, 1952 – March 5, 2016

Mary Ann Larsen passed away peacefully at Hoag Hospital, Irvine surrounded by her family.

Mary Ann met her husband through work and they spent 25 lovely years together spending precious time with family and friends. Yearly vacations meeting up with friends in the Grand Caymans and Key West were a must and always looked forward to.

When Mary Ann did not have to work anymore, she devoted her time to her house, garden, dogs, grandkids and spending as much time as possible boating on the lake, attending lake concerts and just being in the sun and the outdoors. She was always a joy to be around, always there to listen and was loving and giving to her family and all who know her.

She will be missed by her husband, two sons, three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, father, sister, nieces and nephews.

  1. Jack – We are so very sorry for the loss of Mary Ann and we know how much she meant to you. We both have so many fond memories with you two over the years. One of the ones we recall often was the Jazzfest on the Lake we went to several years ago. It was so great to cruise around on the boat and get the tour of the lake, and then the music was amazing. Remember at the end we ran into Bobby Caldwell by the dock where we were tied up and he sang Happy Birthday to Mary Ann? That was so cool and I know that I took a video of it (even though it was pitch black and you couldn’t see anything but you could hear it all), but since that was before the days of iCloud I cannot find it right now. His song “What You Won’t Do for Love” is one of our favorites and whenever we hear it we think of that night with you too. Know that you are in our thoughts and prayers and that we love you dearly.

  2. Mike and I will always treasure the special memories we made with Jack and Mary Ann traveling the last several years to Grand Cayman and Key West together. Though we only saw each other for one week each year, we always picked up where we left off the year before and really enjoyed catching up on our lives while relaxing on the beach or by the pool. Mary Ann holds a special place in our hearts and will miss her dearly.

  3. Susan Bird says:

Mary Ann was my first “BEST FRIEND” in Jr high school. Being so young we shared so many young ideas and we were very close. We remained friends through the years and I last saw her last year at a private book signing and we caught up on our lives through the years. I acknowledged her in my first book as someone I loved and like a first love, I think a love for a first real best friend also remains in our hearts forever. I know life takes us all on our own journeys but we never forget the innocence of our young lives and those people who were apart of that time and space. Mary Ann will forever be remembered to me, as a very special person at that time in my life. I shall forever love her and will always cherish our time together  RIP my sweet girlfriend.
