Obituary
After fighting the good fight against cancer, Loris Desa peacefully passed away on July 2nd, 2015, two weeks shy of his 42nd birthday. He was surrounded by his loving wife and soulmate Roopa, daughter Kaitlyn, and son Kevin. Loris was a devoted father, son, godfather and husband. He was loved and respected by all those who knew him. Loris was notorious for his quick wit and quirky sense of humor as evidenced in his love for Seinfeld. He never shied away from a great food experience and would drive any distance to find a great restaurant.
As he bravely battled cancer armed with the knowledge of his disease that even surprised his doctors, Loris’ resolve, positive attitude and selfless virtue inspired all those around him. His childlike spirit and magical persona was reflected in the way he loved his Kaitlyn and Kevin. In addition to his joie de vivre he was a logical and progressive thinker, but most of all he was a man with a deep-rooted faith in God and his church. Loris will be missed, but never forgotten, by all those whose lives he touched.
The family requests that Loris’ fight against cancer be continued by donations made to the City of Hope, in lieu of flowers.

Dear Roopa, Kaitlyn & Kevin,
Please accept our heartfelt sympathies on the sad loss of our dear friend and neighbour Loris. May God grant his soul eternal rest and you all the strength to pull through these tough times. May his beautiful memories help heal the pain over time.
Loris grew up with us in Fontainhas playing on the same streets and playgrounds along with his brothers. An absolutely top bloke who always had great smile. My heart sank when I heard the news. I heard he fought a galant battle but I’m sure just as in life he went down smiling.
Stay strong and I know with a strong family and their support hopefully you will overcome the challenges ahead.
Please convey my sympathies to your family too. I’ll personally pay his parents Dona Maggi & Senhor Antonio and brothers Denis, Elvis, Lewis & Clevis a visit the next time I’m down in Goa. God bless …
Love and prayers,
Edwin Godinho & family

Memories of a Brother
How well I do remember
all the special times we had
as we were raised side by side
sharing good times, sharing bad.
Then your dream fulfilled
took you to a far away land
Where your success and wonderful
family filled everyone with joy .
God saw you getting tired
and a cure was not to be
so he put His arms around you
and whispered “Come To Me”
With tearful eyes we watched you
as you slowly slipped away
And though we loved you dearly
We couldn’t make you stay.
Then your Golden Heart stopped
beating, your tired body put to rest,
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the BEST.
love, Lewis
