Obituary
McGivern, Joanne J., a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2015 at home. Born Dec. 28, 1933 to the loving parents Clara and Glenn Crawford.
Joanne is preceded in death by husband Tom and her daughter Cynthia. Survived by Tom’s 4 children, Janet Lewis and Timothy, James and Thomas McGivern; 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Just received a note from Tom McGivern’s son, Tom, telling me of Joanne’s passing on June 24, 2015. Joanne and I had been friends since we worked together at McDonnell Douglas Astronautics Corp. in Huntington Beach in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s. I am saddened to learn that my dear friend is gone! She was truly one-of-a-kind — a slim, pretty, blonde who was smart, funny, and a joy to be around! I was there when she began dating Tom McGivern, a divorced man with four children. They made a wonderful couple, and I was happy for them as they began married life together. We had kept in touch all these years (since I moved in 1972) via letters, cards and notes at Christmas, and then via e-mail as we both became “computer-smart.”
Thank you, Tom, for letting me know about your Mom. My sincere condolences to you and your siblings.. I know that all who knew this beautiful lady, including myself, share your feelings of loss. God bless and keep you.
