    Dear family,

I would like to express to you my condolences with the loss of Farouk, always known to us as just simply Torki. A very knowledgable and very friendly collegue who always was interested in you as a person. I only knew him for a few weeks when my youngest son was born and he was the first one to come with a present. Since then at many occasions we talked about our children and our experiences with them growing up. Always in good humour. He was very very proud of his children and he loved his family, always looking forward in seeing them again either here in rainy Holland or in his sunny California.
I wish you all strength in bearing his loss.

  5. Dear lovely family members of Farouk,

Because I have been talking with Farouk for the last five year on a quite regular basis at Lummus, in The Netherlands, I feel shocked and herewith express my deepest condolences to all of you. The last occasion we talked, we elaborated about his plans to return to “sunny” California rather than staying in “rainy” Holland. Besides these lovely topics, Farouk teaches me that all cultural differences can be overcome easily when we would at least are willing to listen. This listing was one of his great assets and guided me through rough project times. I will surely miss him and will continue to remember him as one of my finest colleagues. Although these words are only words still I hope that after the current dark moments some sunny days will enlighten your path forward so his vision will guide you.
