Obituary
EVANGELINE A. VITUG
On April 1, Wednesday, 8:15 pm, Evangeline (Lane) Vitug, loving wife of Manolito (Lito) passed away at the age of 85 after a courageous battle with heart failure.
Lane was born in Manila, Philippines to loving parents Benigno and Josefa Aldana on June 21, 1934, and was one of five children. After she graduated from Holy Ghost College she taught in high school for over ten years. She married Lito on December 17, 1960 and together they raised nine children.
Lane and Lito moved the family to California in November 1979 where they continued to rear their children, and together with their many friends, fostered great devotion to the Lord Jesus, the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Joseph in the spirit of Opus Dei taught by St. Josemaria and Blessed Alvaro del Portillo. She fulfilled God’s will through her responsibilities as wife, mother, grandmother and friend with a lot of affection and great simplicity. She did this without complaining even when faced with adversities such as financial setbacks and illnesses in the family including her own.
Lane is survived by her husband Lito, children Noel, Martin (and Stephanie), Mark (and Ruth), Maritess (and Rick O’Donnell), Montse (and Mike Vroman), Todd Kupka (husband of deceased daughter Michelle), Michael (and Traci), Matthew, and May (and Tom Stoddard), and all the loving 23 grandchildren. Her loving and generous spirit evoked a very tender last end from her greatest love of Jesus, Mary and Joseph.
Her remains are at the O’Connor Mortuary in Laguna Hills.
The Viewing and Holy Rosary will take place on Wednesday, April 8, from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.
You will be able to join us via streaming video for the Viewing and Holy Rosary at

Unfortunately, due to the coronavirus and Shelter in Place, the Funeral Mass and Burial for Lane will be postponed to a future date.
In lieu of flowers you may send offerings to the family.
Thank you for being part of our Life!
