  1. Phyllis and Family: My deepest condolences to you all. Charlie was a dear friend whose humor and camaraderie will always be prized. I know how much he loved you all and I hope he knew how much I and many others loved him. I am honored to have been a friend of Charles F. Dodson.

Many rounds of golf with Charlie the counselor over the past many years provided me, and the others who had the privilege to share time with him, much joy. His wry New England humor along with a fine game of golf, gave those he “victimized”including meat Camp Pendleton Golf Course during and after a round, as much pleasure as one could ask during the highest quality time one could spend with friends. Charlie will be missed by all of us who were privileged to know and enjoy his company. Please convey my deepest condolences to his family. He will be remembered fondly for every putt he “drained” while bringing both joy and despair to his partners and opponents…. He was the real McCoy, a gentleman – without an ounce of “quit” in him. It was my privilege to know him and share good times with him.

Words are elusive in describing the sorrow felt for the Dodson family at this time. Charlie was one of those few people who brightened the room simply by entering it with his warm smile. His gentleness, intelligence and wit set him apart. From coast to coast, he will be missed. It was an honor to be among his many friends. My heartfelt sympathy to Phyllis, Maria, Melissa, Kerry, Jen and Ed. Love, Gayle
