Carol Jean Reed
December 23, 1938 December 15, 2012

Carol Jean Reed, 73, passed away on the morning of December 15, 2012 in Mission Viejo after an incredibly courageous battle with COPD. Carol’s husband, Bill, was with her when she drifted off to be with God and be reunited with her daughter Julie.

Carol was born to Mary and William Sarina of Hammond Indiana on December 23, 1938. She attended Morton High School in Hammond and went on to pursue her education at Purdue University in Indiana. It was there that she met the love of her life Bill. Bill and Carol were married in 1958 in the quaint Chapel of Purdue University.

Bill and Carol had two beautiful daughters, Julie and Jennifer who filled their lives with joy. Julie struggled with many health issues at a young age. Her precious life was cut short in 1994 when she passed away from Lupus complications. Jennifer brightened Carol and Bill’s life by giving them three amazing grandchildren, Ally, Ryan and Aubree. She was also blessed to have the love and support of her son-in-law Jay.

Carol was not only a devoted wife and mother, but she was also a very successful businesswoman, working as a real estate agent for over 30 at Remax Realty and other real estate agencies. She was also an arts and crafts enthusiast, creating intricate projects that filled the home of her loved ones, bringing beauty wherever she went.

Carol will be extremely missed by husband, daughter and grandchildren, as she was the matriarch of her family. Her memory will live in their hearts forever.

Carol is survived by her husband Bill, her daughter Jennifer, her son-in-law Jay, her grandchildren Ally, Ryan, and Aubree, as well as by her dog Hanna.

The funeral service will be held at St. Paul Orthodox Church in Irvine, California, Thursday December 20, 2012 at 10:00 AM.
