Obituary

Billye Lee Campbell was born on October 7, 1931 in Dustin, Oklahoma and passed away March 31, 2017 at her residence in Dana Point, California. She was 85 years old. She worked at American Airlines in Tulsa, Oklahoma for 8 years and then returned to earn her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California. Billye worked as a beloved elementary School Teacher for twenty-five years in Stockton and later in Simi Valley, California. She volunteered at her church and donated to charities generously. Her hobbies included painting, music, dancing, time spent with friends and family and she enjoyed travelling. Her journeys took her across the U.S., Canada, Hawaii, Alaska, Mexico, Europe, Russia and Israel. She was a loving and supportive mother, always ready to ‘go’ wherever and whenever. Finally, Billye never forgot her roots as she loved everything and everyone from Oklahoma!

Billye is survived by her daughter Rhonda Handke of Dana Point, CA and her sisters Nova Dodson of Sulfur, OK and Betty Jo Viscia of Napa, CA and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held graveside on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Floral Haven Mortuary, 6500 S. 129th E Avenue, Broken Arrow, OK. Interment will follow in the Floral Haven Cemetery.
