Lunch and Learn: Grief and Progressive Dementia: Caring for Residents and Their Families (RCFE)
Administrators and staff of residential care facilities regularly interact with residents with dementia and their families. In this fast-paced workshop, you’ll learn the newest thinking about communicating with and supporting the residents as well as interacting with their families.
Objectives: At the conclusion of this workshop, participants will be able to…
- Describe how normal bereavement responses are complicated by dementia
- Utilize a framework for emotional support of cognitively-impaired patients as they face their own losses
- Develop supportive interventions for caregivers of cognitively-impaired patients
– 2.0 CEUs Available for RCFE and Nurses –
This workshop is approved for RCFE continuing education (approval number 210-0204-35543). Participants may not receive credit more than once for the same approved workshop during a two-year renewal cycle. Make certain you have not attended this workshop during your renewal cycle if you want to claim credit.
