Obituary
Ronald Edward Hogue, 73, passed away suddenly in the city of Palm Springs, CA where he lived.
Ron is survived by his wife Sandra Lee Hogue; stepson Timothy J. Carter; his brothers Arlie and Roger Hogue of Grants Pass, Oregon and Benny Munoz of Huntington Beach, CA; and his sister Sharon Heckman of Palm Springs, CA.
Ron was born in Los Angeles, CA to Ambroe and Bertha Hogue on October 2, 1940. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Ron graduated in 1969 from Inglewood High School. He continued his education at Long Beach State where he studied economics and obtained his AA degree. Ron obtained his pilot’s license in 1971. He took the flying lessons at Santa Monica Airport.
Ron started his food brokerage career on September 25, 1972 with Massie & Associates. Ron rose from territory manager to district manager and then retail sales manager.
Ron left Brown-Massie in 1976 to join a firm that offered him more money and a position as manager of their Grocery Division, that company being Butler-Clark. Butler-Clark was sold in 1981.
Ron then joined Crown/Advantage (Advantage Sales & Marketing) where he worked for over 25 years. He was a business development manager (food broker). Ron loved what he did and was very well known and much respected in the supermarket industry.
Ron will be so much more than missed by so many people, close friends, and his family.
Ron enjoyed being with his wife so much, that they did so much together – cooking, candlelight dinners every night listening to their favorite music, walking, hiking, gardening home improvement projects. They loved entertaining friends and family. Ron enjoyed playing golf and his Starbuck’s coffee every morning.

Ron and I have worked known each other and worked together for over 20 years. He was a man of great integrity who had a very caring heart. He will be missed. My prayers and thoughts go out to his family.

Dear Sandy,
It’s difficult to even begin to express my sadness and to grasp the fact that I will no longer hear “Eddieeeeeeeee” from my buddy “Hoooooooogue”.
Lots of Memories working with each other and not just buyer calls…….
Well, there’s the car accident…………… okay, not one of the better ones, but definitely “memorable”.
Discussing family while on the golf course together, or having lunch. I recall the three of us having lunch together at Chiles and meeting Ron in the desert for breakfast.
Unfortunately, I am not going to be available this weekend, but my heart and prayers will be with you.

As many others will likely write here and recall in memory over the weekend, Ron was a very special person. I had the pleasure of working closely with Ron for may years and he left many a mark on his business world. He did his job very well, and had relationships with the trade that were unmatched then and will remain unmatched. He was always able to take the chaos with a calming attitude and a sense of humor often shown with his famous chuckle and shrug of the shoulders. Beyond the business Ron was able to forge true friendships and admiration from everyone he touched due to his wonderful character. I was and am truly saddened when I heard the news of Ron’s passing but am reminded of the smiles he brought and the joy he had in his life and that he shared.
I was fortunate to run into Ron not that long ago as we was going into an account call and he was so happy living in the desert and still making a difference in his work.
Ron will be truly missed but not forgotten by those he touched. Thank you Ron for what you brought to others.

To Ron’s family. I am so very sorry for your loss. I didn’t know Ron that well but saw him around the office. One morning when no one else was around, Ron came to me and asked if I could help him with printing something. He was very nice and appreciated it. He was always pleasant. You can only tell how well liked and respected he was around here. Again, my condolences to your whole family. My prayers and thoughts are with you. May God Bless you all. May Ron rest in peace.

My sweeSt cousin, Ronnie. So many memories of you, Benny and Arlie. You were always so much fun, hard working when you were a kid, picking strawberries in the fields during the hot summers, helping me with my daughter during a difficult time.
