Robert Hewitt Meritt
Born: 11/7/1938- 11/28/14

On November 28th our beloved brother in Christ went on his new journey with our Lord and Savior.

Robert H. Merritt was born on November 7, 1938 in Greenville, S.C. Son of Raymond H. Merritt and Mary Helen McWhite, both deceased. He graduated from Alexander Wilson High School. He then joined the U.S. Navy at the age of 17. After completing his tour of duty Robert attended North Carolina State University receiving a Bachelors in Economics. He went on to get his MBA at Long Beach State University.

Robert is survived by his wife Linda Merritt, daughter Kimberly Banker, her husband Craig Banker, and his grandchildren Michael Banker and Merritt Banker. He is also survived by his brothers William Carlyle Merritt and Michael Fitzgerald as well as his three sisters Mona Helen Chandler, Elaine Merritt Edwards and Martha Ann Merritt Schoffner along with many nieces and nephews.

    Bob and I drove his Corvair Chevy to LA in the Early 60’s. A great trip with a great guy. R.I.P Bob you will be missed.

  5. I can never remember uncle Bob without a smile on his face or a story to tell. It was such a blessing to have recently seen Bob & Linda in Charlotte for lunch as they were passing through on their way to Burlington. That will always be my last memory of Bob. His hearty laugh and expression of love in his face as he listened to Linda talking about their family or his recounting with Mom of their years growing up in Swepsonville. You are and will be missed Bob but never forgotten!
