Dear Beloved Sheryl and Family,
Our hearts and souls are with you in this time of profound transition. Nicah was a gift from Heaven, a blessing, a light from above. She was so positive and gentle. We always remember Nicah and Jimmy in the tree her bubbling laughter and the two of them climbing down to take each mother’s hand and lead us together as forever friends.
Even my Father remembers Nicah’s care to her brothers. He remembers Nicah watching over them while Sheryl took classes. Dad remembers the boys doing amazing break-dancing!!! He was impressed.
In December 2013, I am grateful for a Skype visit with Nicah. She was in her mother’s tender care in a hospital bed in the living room. She was weak, and tired quickly, but this was almost hidden because of her beautific smile and graceful voice and words.
The world is a different place now, with Nicah in Heaven. As far away as Australia, Jimmy and Fran can feel it, and Barbara in Washington. We wish we could be with you at this time, and we are in our spirit.
With love, Jimmy, Frances, Barbara

How, from a hospital bed at Saddleback during a blood transfusion, she so subtly asks for her purse, gets out her little notebook, flips through the pages for the particular scripture she had in mind, and spontaneously, straight-faced, breaks into singing the words to the tune of the alphabet song we all learned as children. Priceless.

The way her beautiful spirit, her personality and sense of humor came through even when she was in tremendous suffering. The experience of it and now the memory of it takes my breath away.
