My most vivid memories of Michael are from visits to our house at holidays. He grew from an adorable curly haired toddler to a truly kind teenager, who spent a lot of time helping his much younger cousin set up complicated train sets. The last time I saw him, I told him this and how much we loved him.

Most of the memories I have of Honeyman are of him laughing with people or of him making others laugh. One of my favorite memories is when he and I were talking about sewing a hat made out of thick sponges. I told him that I’d make him a hat out of sponges so that it could absorb so much water that in the hot summer time, he could have a consant squeeze of cold water running down his face…even over his mouth as he was trying to talk, over his eyes, into his ears. It was crazy! I remember the humor that we enjoyed from this conversation, though. He found my idea hilarious. We laughed a great laugh together at how ridiculous the conversation was while sitting in the back seat of a car, in our own world. This is how I knew him, and this is how I will always remember him. Always down for a silly conversation and a really good laugh. The world will miss you, Honeyman.

Jr. High and high school were better experiences because of Mike. All I remember were cracking jokes and laughing with him in the classes we were together. He was one of the warmest and funniest dudes I knew. Will miss you man.

If you would like to, I think Michael would have appreciated small donations to the Cedars-Sinai Heart Disease center. This is where he was going to get his heart transplant from.
