Dearest Lisa, Kyle and Michael & Family,
I am unable to express in words the depth of my concern and sympathy for you all. Please know candles are being lit, and masses offered for John – and for you all, from here in N. Ireland. This is from the Song of Songs, (ch. 8):
‘Set me as a seal upon your heart, as a seal upon your arm; for love is strong as death, passion fierce as the grave. It’s flashes are flashes of fire, a raging flame.’
My prayers for you all is that the raging flames of your grief will, in time, be quenched by the great love you share with each other. The wonderful family that John lead & provided for…just like our dear St. Joseph!! That doesn’t change now that he has departed suddenly. John will be there tending the mansion Our Lord has waiting for you! May you be strengthened by your deep faith, may you uphold each other, may the Lord comfort you with abiding love and all the happy memories of the beautiful family life you created.
God bless and keep you all,
Brigitte, Garth, Daniel and Nina

On behalf of Anaheim Public Utilities, I want to extend my heartfelt condolences to the Pellegrino family. John was a 25-year employee, managing highly complex utility systems for the entire city of Anaheim that covered a population of 360,000 and included major entertainment and sporting venues. Knowing John was in charge of protecting our electric system was of great comfort to me. His intelligence, dedication, responsiveness were only surpassed by his character and humility. While I knew him as a brilliant and accomplished engineer, his true legacy will be that of a loving husband, father, and coach – true measures of greatness.
