SAVAGE CARLTON, JILL
June 22, 1960 ~ May 29, 2007
Jill Savage Carlton passed away at home after a courageous five-year battle with brain cancer. She is survived by her husband, Scott Carlton of Irvine; parents, Charles and Jeannine Savage of Fallbrook, CA; sister, Holly Snyder of Greer, SC; and niece and nephew, Heather and George.
Jill was born in Long Beach, CA. Her family moved to Katonah, NY when she was 8 years old. After high school, she returned to California, graduating from UC Santa Barbara with a degree in Economics in 1982 and from UC Irvine with an MBA in 1984.
Her professional career was spent in Orange County as a Finance Manager for various pharmaceutical and industrial companies, including McGaw, Allergan and ITT Cannon. She married Scott in 1998. Together they enjoyed travel, animals, the beach, concerts and most of their time together.
In keeping with her lifelong love of the water, her ashes will be interred at Pacific View Memorial Park in Corona Del Mar where a graveside service is scheduled for 3:00p.m. Saturday, June 16, 2007. Reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Hoag Hospital Cancer Center, Newport Beach or to the SPCA or animal shelter of your choice.

Jill is a kind and generous person. I have good memories of her, especially when she visited me in England, where Jill conquered driving on the left side and finding the nearest shopping. Who could forget her favorite cat, Yoda. I will remember Jill always and am sorry she has left us too soon.

Jill was one of my dearest friends, and saw me though a lot of changes. I will always be grateful to her for the times she gave me a good talking to when I was down in the dumps and feeling sorry for myself. We were daily friends, where a day didn’t pass without at least one phone call.
We shared a love of music, especially Don Henley. We used to listen to the “End of The Innocence” album for hours. I’ll not forget the many concerts we attended, the golf lessons we took together, and the trips to Palm Springs and Big Bear. There were many nights of going out dancing. I remember her habit of changing her clothes and shoes and later, wigs or hats a million times before we left for an evening out. We had fun at many finance conferences together.
I remember her introducing me to her family, especially a trip to Texas to visit a very pregnant Holly and Bill. I remember when she met Scott and her joy at finding her life partner. I will also remember her sharing my joy as I met and married my husband. While she hated the dress, she still agreed to be a bridesmaid in our wedding.
While we were not in as frequent touch in the past few years, she will always have a special place in my heart.
I’ll miss you Jill, but I know you are free of suffering and are now at peace.
