Obituary

Anne Johnson Hand
December 2, 1952 – September 4, 2020
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.
2 Timothy 4:7

Anne Johnson Hand was the daughter of Jimmy and Carrie Norman and was born on December 2, 1952 in Newton, Mississippi. She was raised in the church and dedicated her life to the Lord Jesus Christ (in her youth).

As a young woman, Ann moved to California and was a lifelong resident of Orange County, where she raised her family. She worked as a realtor and for various churches as an accountant. In her later years, she was ordained as a minister at Vision International Ministries in Redondo Beach, CA.

Anne was blessed with a loving family and was kind and soft spoken. She was recently married in 2020 to Charles Hand. Ann was a very devoted mother to her two children Julian and Daphne Johnson, raising her children in the church and diligently admonishing them in the way of the Lord. She was a devoted and passionate grandmother to Chavvah, Julian, Celeste and Ezekiel. She loved her grandchildren dearly and always had time to tend to their needs, to answer a question or solve a problem no matter how large or small. Ann was a woman of God who prayed diligently to the Lord for her family and their needs. Ann was a powerful minister and prayer warrior. She loved to gather together with the saints to pray. She was a very faithful, covenant friend.

This summer, Ann unexpectedly took sick and departed to be with the Lord on September 4, 2020, at 12:45p.m. at the age of 67. Ann is dearly missed by her family, loved ones, and friends who celebrate the fact that she is with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ whom she served.

Anne is survived by her son Julian and his wife Katie, her daughter Daphne, her grandchildren Chavvah, Julian, Celeste, Ezekiel, her brother James and sisters Ida, Linda, Alice, and Mary Ann.

Funeral Services will be held December 2, 2020 in Dana Point, California. Flowers, donations, and condolences can be sent to Daphne or Julian Johnson, 1532 Crested Bird, Irvine, California 92620.

I’ve known Anne for over 40 years. About 1/2 that time, we sang together in the church choir, while becoming very close friends. We spent countless days and times together, worshipping, eating out after church, or just hanging out together having a great time. We even traveled together to various functions. Anne was one of the most serene, passionate, and loving people to have as a dear friend. One could not help but experience the “Christ Love” inside of her. She wore Jesus so beautifully. I love and miss my dear friend so much. As much as it hurts, knowing she is with the one she worshipped so greatly, allows me to breathe with a sigh of some comfort. I love you Anne
