I went all through grammar school St. Patricks and high school St. Josephs with Anita and have so many fond memories of her. We reconnected several yeara ago by email and facebook and had many conversations about her children and family. She was enormously proud of her children and really wanted to give back and make a difference in the world! I remember her artistic talent and oh..that beautiful long blonde hair! She will be sorely missed and remembered warmly by all who knew her. Reply Ann L. Spina Hyman says: August 9, 2011 I just recently learned of Anita’s passing and am filled with great memories of her. We “grew up” together, sort of, at St. Pat’s and St. Joe’s; she was funny, sarcastic, artistic and loyal. I will never forget her. I so hope she didn’t suffer long. I send my most heartfelt condolences to her sisters, brothers, husband, and children. What a cool mom she must have been~~ Reply Gail Accettella-Hawkins says: August 9, 2011 I am saddened by the news of Anita’s passing. I went to grammer school and high school with her. My mind is racing with fun stories of our escapades. I wish I could share them all with you and your children. She was such a funny, giving friend. I was only in touch with her just a few years ago and I remember how much she talked about her husband and children. She was so proud of you. My heart goes out to all of you. My sister Patti and I have stayed in touch through the years with “Ayaha” but really, she is literally at the heart of every memory we have of St. Pat’s and St. Joes…when she wasn’t right in the middle of any “caper” we were pulling, she was the lookout…she was a loyal and fun friend who always thought “outside the box.” Mr. Brown’s bus, hitching home from ASJ, sneaking up to the Bell Tower, smoking in the gazebo, fake Baptismal Certificatesthanks to and unbeknownst to Anita’s mom — all those times when we were totally unsupervised, the times we REALLY grew up — Anita was right in the middle of everything, laughing that really great laugh and putting her creative spin on everything. There were lots of girls at St. Pat’s and St. Joes but there was only one Anita Lebrun. I know how happy she was when she met and married Jeff and how much her family meant to her…you are all in my thoughts and prayers. I join her family and friends in memories and celebration of the blessing that she was, and continues to be, for us.
